Running the Show: Inside the Cue
Most people don’t realize there’s a single voice running the entire show, and long before that, that same person is building it.
At Platinum XP, that’s our Executive Producers. Our EPs aren’t just calling cues on show day; they’re involved early, working through the run of show, aligning with every department, and building a plan that actually works in a live environment. It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about making sure the show can handle real-time pressure.
From the first conversation, the EP is building trust with the client by being prepared, proactive, and clear about what it takes to execute the vision well. And when things shift (because they always do), they’re managing it in real time; keeping the team aligned internally while making sure the client feels confident and supported externally. The goal is simple: the client shouldn’t have to carry the weight of what’s happening behind the scenes.
We sat down with two of our Executive Producers to break down what this role really looks like…from early planning to final execution.
